DWIJANAHA - Second Birth of human being

Dwijanaha, a Sanskrit synonym, "second birth" of human being. Human life is divided as phases from the birth till the end. Of which, the first and foremost phase starts from birth till the age of 7. During this childhood, he is considered as God. At the age of 7, he is introduced to a Guru or his father himself becomes a Guru to preach the ideals of Dharma with life.

This phase is the second birth or DWIJANAHA. All the rituals performed at this phase are called Upanayana (an eye opener). When the child grows as an adult, the second phase of his life reflects as his characters.

The second phase or the second birth is precious part of any human's life, which is eternal and serene. Likewise, the primarily formed teeth are replaced by new set of permanent teeth. This kind of natural transformation stands as an example for DWIJANAHA.

When these kind of changes take place, certain types of tumors arise in the jaws which needs removal of the jaw as a portion or sometimes completely. Thus removed portion results in asymmetrical face, also deranges the facial harmony both in form and function.

To restore such defects, various modalities have been employed since few centuries but Microvascular grafting procedure makes the process more versatile and enhance the surgeon's skill and decorum.

Mircosurgical Procedure

About Micro Surgical Procedure: Microsurgery is a general term for surgery requiring an operating microscope. The most obvious developments have been microsurgical procedures developed to allow anastomosis of successively smaller blood vessels and nerves (typically 1 mm in diameter) which have allowed transfer of tissue from one part of the body to another and re-attachment of severed parts. Although microsurgery is used mostly in plastic surgery, microsurgical procedures and mircosurgical techniques are utilized by several specialties today, especially those involved in reconstructive surgery such as: general surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, gynecological surgery, otolaryngology, neurosurgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and pediatric surgery.
